A typical day in a Montessori class
A typical day in a Montessori class would begin at 8:30 a.m. The children would be greeted and welcomed by their teachers. A short morning circle would follow in which the children would be involved in discussing the weather, calendar, the theme for the month etc. After the circle, they would begin working with the Montessori materials. While the children would be working with the Montessori materials, the Montessori Teacher would go around presenting new materials to the children as she deemed appropriate. The children would also be taking a break in between for morning snack. There would be outdoor play/arts and crafts (relating to the theme) as well. At 11:30 a.m. the children will have lunch in their class under the supervision of their teacher. After lunch, the students will resume their Montessori Work. At 3:00 p.m. they will have their afternoon snack and will be dismissed at 3:40 p.m.
